Safe Learners™ collects your personal information such as your name, contact information, phone numbers and payment information.

Any credit card details are processed securely in a PCI-compliant payment gateway using a secure HTTPS internet connection. We do not directly collect or store payment information.

Payment data is handled by a third-party service provider: Contact Stripe at info@stripe.com for further details. We recommend familiarising yourself with third-party privacy policies before providing personal information.

How it is Used:

The personal information that is collected is for billing, identification, authentication, service improvement, research and website development. Personal data helps us deliver products, offer promotions, and improve our services.

Terms of use about using the instructor’s vehicle for driving:

Upon requesting the rental of an Instructor vehicle to participate in the driving test, the Learner takes full responsibility for:

  • all damage to the vehicle if the Learner is “at fault” or cannot identify nor have details of the person “at fault”.
  • damage that is caused by the vehicle that is within Learner’s control.
  • theft or loss of the vehicle.
  • all fines accumulated during the driving test, regardless of when they are issued by the relevant authority.

Additionally, the Learner states that in such an event, the Learner agrees to pay for the costs of repairs to the vehicle &/or property collided with, subject to the renter of two agreed quotes including…

  • actual cost of repairs
  • any towing fees
  • any excesses payable
  • any fines

In the case of a disastrous incident, where the cost to repair is greater than the excess fees, the Learner will pay within 14 days.

How many hours do I need to complete before I can take my P1 driving test?

If you are under 25, you need to log 120 hours of supervised driving, including 20 hours of night driving, in your logbook. If you are 25 or older, you do not need to complete the logbook hours but must pass the driving test.

Who can supervise a learner driver in NSW?

A supervisor must have a full (unrestricted) Australian driver’s licence, held for at least one year. They must sit in the front passenger seat while supervising.

Are there any speed limits for learner drivers?

Yes, learners in NSW must not exceed 90 km/h, regardless of the signposted speed limit.

Can I drive on motorways and freeways as a learner?

Yes, learner drivers in NSW can drive on all roads, including motorways and freeways, as long as they are supervised by a qualified driver.

What happens if I commit a traffic offence as a learner?

Learners have a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and drugs. If caught exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 km/h, your licence can be suspended for three months. Learners also have four demerit points, and exceeding this will result in suspension.

How do I book my driving test for a P1 licence?

You can book your driving test online through the Service NSW website or in person at a Service NSW centre. Make sure your logbook (if required) is completed and signed off.
